Start the New Year with Sight Support Sports Talk
Join us via Zoom Chat, on Wednesday evening 20th January 2021 from 7.30pm - 9pm
This is a group aimed at blind & visually impaired people who love sport and those who are curious about what taking part will mean for them. Dispelling myths and explaining the measures taken to ensure safety.
If you want to find out more information about VI sport opportunities in your area, talk to others about mainstream sport, make new friends and to get inspired, then this is the place for you.
There will be a theme for each meeting, but the floor is open to discussion on all topics sport related.
The group will meet on Zooms video & phone chat and is open to anyone from the Bristol, Bath, South Glos and Wiltshire areas.
The theme for this session is:
Love, Deuce, & Out! Blind & Visually impaired Tennis Talk.
with Helen Abbot
Welcome to world of blind and visually impaired tennis, one of the fastest growing VI Sport in the world!
Visually impaired Tennis is played on either a badminton court or a standard tennis court using a short tennis racket and an adapted spongy ball that makes a noise when it bounces.
The standard rules of tennis apply with just a few modifications. Just like standard tennis, you can play singles or doubles.
Talk from a coach and player on the game, achievements that can be made and how you can get involved!
