Customer Service Internship Vacancy
With funding from Thomas Pocklington Trust, Sight Support West of England is licensed to deliver the Get Set Progress internship programme in the Bristol and Devizes area.
Job Description
Role: Customer Service Intern
Location: Devizes or Bristol
Salary: National living wage
Contract type: Fixed Term – 9 months, full time (35 hours per week)
Closing date: 24 April 2022
We have an exciting intern opportunity for a blind or partially sighted person to join our team and be our first point of contact for clients, organisations and the general public. The post will take the lead dealing with external calls, emails and visitors to the organisation. The postholder will be answering the phone; dealing with general enquiries; transferring calls; taking accurate messages and ensuring that they are passed on promptly to the right person; and providing other administrative support to the team as required.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a caring and understanding phone manner to add real value to a small but growing organisation, and to learn new skills in the process.
The role is part of the Get Set Progress internships programme for blind and partially sighted people to secure that first rung on the career ladder or who are returning to work following a career break. We are therefore only looking for blind and partially sighted applicants for this role. 85% of Get Set Progress interns leave and gain paid employment in a wide range of sectors.
The successful applicant will have excellent communications skills, a good standard of verbal and written English, a high attention to detail and a caring, professional and positive attitude.
Sight Support West of England works to reduce the impact of sight loss, supporting blind and partially sighted people to lead independent lives and to secure equal access to services. We deliver local services across Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Swindon.
