A volunteer welcoming people at a Sight Loss Information Day

Our dedicated team can provide the answers to your questions, provide emotional or practical support, connect you with local support groups, offer advice for family and carers or make a referral for you to access support from one of our partner organisations.  If you or someone you know is visually impaired, we’re here to help.

The Sight Loss Advisor team, some of whom are sight impaired themselves, conduct information and advice sessions in community hubs across the region, ensuring that appointments and advice are available to people who cannot travel far.  We can help with specific queries, or we can offer a full Sight Loss Assessment, which looks at all areas of life and helps people to develop an action plan to improve daily living – whether that is help with managing at home, getting out, improving health and wellbeing or getting into employment or volunteering.

We can also offer training in how to make the best use of your remaining sight, or how to use technology to support daily living.

To speak to an advisor, make an appointment, or to find out when an advisor will be running sessions local to you, please call us.  Alternatively, you can come to our one our three fully equipped resource centres in Bristol, Devizes and Salisbury (opening October 2021) to try a wide range of assistive technology, lighting, magnifiers and daily living aides which could help you manage your sight loss.

Our contact numbers:  0117 322 4885 (Bristol, BaNES and South Glos) or 01380 723 682 (Wiltshire).
