We have marked an exciting new chapter with the official opening of our very first Insight Gloucestershire charity shop in Stroud. The ribbon was cut at our new premises at 58 High Street, Stroud, GL5 1AS, welcoming the community inside for the first time on Wednesday 3 September 2025.

The shop has been designed with accessibility in mind, making it a welcoming place for shoppers and volunteers with sight loss. Wide pathways, clear signage, and high-contrast colours all feature, alongside an accessible till system created with visually impaired volunteers in mind.

As well as raising vital funds to support our services, the shop will also act as a local base for the charity in Stroud. Behind the shop, a new resource centre will open later this year. This will be a safe and welcoming space where people can book an appointment with a Community Sight Loss Advisor for information and guidance on any aspect of living with sight loss.

We are hugely grateful to everyone who has helped bring the shop to life – from supporters who have donated stock to volunteers and staff who have worked so hard behind the scenes.
