Digital Skills Support Service

Our Digital Skills Support Service offers friendly, one to one support to help blind and partially sighted people use technology in ways that make everyday life easier

Digital technology can make everyday life easier in ways that many people don’t realise. From reading your post and staying in touch with family and friends to finding your way around more confidently, technology can open up new possibilities for blind and partially sighted people.

Many smartphones, tablets and computers already include built-in accessibility features such as magnification, larger text, screen readers and high contrast settings. There are also apps and digital tools that can read printed text aloud, identify everyday objects, describe your surroundings, help with navigation, and give you access to books, newspapers and podcasts.

Our Digital Skills Support Service is here to help you make the most of these possibilities. Whether you’re completely new to technology, thinking about buying your first smartphone, or already using digital devices, we’ll help you explore what could work for you and your sight loss.
