Our Charity Shops
We are excited to add charity shops to our fundraising activities. Our charity shops are unique as they also offer access to a Resource Centre for those living with sight loss.
Wiltshire Sight and Sight Support West of England are looking to open charity shops to support our work across the region. Insight Gloucestershire is also hoping to open one or two in the near future also.
Currently between us we have four fantastic charity shops open in:
- Salisbury – located at 23 Catherine Street, Salisbury, SP1 2DQ.
- Devizes – located at 36 The Market Place, Devizes, SN10 1JG.
- Thornbury – located at 18 High Street, Thornbury, BS35 2AH.
- Trowbridge – located at 27 Fore Street, Trowbridge BA14 8EW.
Our shops are designed to be highly accessible to those living with sight loss, we have wide aisles, good lighting, high contrast colours for the till area and door frames and an accessible till system designed with visually impaired volunteers in mind.

By shopping with us, or donating to our shops, you are helping us in our work to support those living with sight loss. We receive no government funding for our core work so we rely all the various ways people support our charity to enable us to offer the support we do. We simply couldn’t do what we do without you!
Our charity shops are a unique concept, our aim is to not only have a high quality charity shop to raise funds, but to also offer local access to our services via an attached resource centre. Here anyone living with sight loss can visit their local Community Sight Loss Advisor in an accessible venue that is stocked with a range of products designed to help those living with sight loss Our linked Resource Centres are a place where it will be easy to access information, advice and guidance and see and try out helpful equipment.
At our Salisbury, Trowbridge and Thornbury shops, our Sight Loss Advisors are available every week (Salisbury – Tuesdays, Trowbridge – Fridays, Thornbury – Mondays), you can make an appointment or just pop in to get a consultation.
Our Devizes shop doesn’t have a resource centre attached as we have a large resource centre in Devizes at our main office at St Lucy’s Sight Centre, Browfort Bath Road, SN10 2AT.
