Gloucester – Introduction to VoiceOver and TalkBack – screen reader course

Gloucester – Introduction to VoiceOver and TalkBack – screen reader course
Monday 1st June 2026 10:30am - 12:30pm
Gloucester

Dates and times

Location: Gloucester (exact venue details will be provided after booking)

This course introduces screen readers, which use speech and audio feedback to describe what is on your device’s screen. It will help you to use your smartphone or tablet through spoken feedback and touch gestures, rather than relying on vision.

Screen readers such as VoiceOver (Apple devices) and TalkBack (Android devices) allow people who are blind or have little or no usable vision to use a device independently.

During the course you will learn the key touch gestures used with screen readers, including how to read through text, move between items and select buttons.

The sessions are practical and supportive. You will have the opportunity to practise tasks such as making and answering calls, reading messages and emails, and navigating apps on your device.

There will also be time to ask questions and try tasks at your own pace.

This course is suitable for people who are blind or have little usable vision. No previous experience of VoiceOver or TalkBack is needed.
