Special session – June

At our June Parents Virtual Hub, we will be joined by the education team at Thomas Pocklington Trust for a practical session focused on technology and learning at school.

They will share guidance on how technology can support your child in education, along with practical tips and an introduction to some of the tools and approaches that may help. There will also be time to ask questions.

Our Virtual Hubs

Our virtual hubs offer a welcoming online space for people affected by sight loss to connect, share experiences, and exchange tips – all in a relaxed and friendly setting, and accessible from the comfort of your home

These hubs are run in partnership by Sight Support West of England, Wiltshire Sight, and Insight Gloucestershire, meaning they are open to anyone living in the areas we cover. This gives you the opportunity to meet and connect with people from across these regions, broadening your support network.

For Parents

This Parents Virtual Hub is specifically designed for parents of visually impaired children and young people up to the age of 25. It provides a supportive environment where you can share experiences, exchange tips, and connect with others who understand the unique challenges and joys of your journey.

Meet Your Host

Our hubs are run by dedicated volunteers with lived experience of sight loss, ensuring you feel right at home.  Meet your host of this virtual hub, Becky, who will guide the sessions and create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

“Hi, I’m Becky, Mum to two boys. My eldest was first diagnosed with a vision impairment 8 years ago and we are in the early stages of having another VI confirmed! I’m very excited to be supporting the three partner charities in hosting the parent forum. I am looking forward to (virtually) meeting other parents / carers of children with a VI to share knowledge and experiences.”

Stay Connected
