About this hub
Takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month between 10am and 1pm
Appointments only – please contact us to book.
Whether you’re newly diagnosed, have been living with sight loss for a long time, or are supporting someone who is visually impaired, this hub is here for you.
Advice and support from your local Sight Loss Advisor
At your appointment, our Community Sight Loss Advisor will offer practical, personalised advice to help you manage daily life in a way that works for you. They can:
- Demonstrate a selection of equipment designed to make everyday tasks easier
- Suggest ways to manage at home or when out and about
- Explain your eye condition and what registration or certification means
- Offer tips on continuing to read with sight loss
- Talk you through local and online opportunities to socialise
- Advise on finances and employment
- Help with everyday gadgets like mobiles and tablets
- Introduce specialist magnifiers and electronic equipment
- Share details of our services and events
- Signpost you to other organisations that may be able to help
Friends and family are very welcome to attend the appointment with you.
