Join us online for a relaxed, friendly discussion for working age blind and partially sighted adults. Whether you’re curious about the topic, would like to hear other people’s experiences or simply enjoy a good conversation, you’ll receive a warm welcome.
October’s topic: The AI Frontier – Exploring Tools for Independence.
Our first Online Meet-up explores how Artificial intelligence is changing the game, from apps that can read menus and describe your surroundings in real time to smart glasses that act as a digital pair of eyes. It’s an exciting time for assistive technology, and many people are finding new ways to work, travel and navigate everyday life with greater confidence.
But AI isn’t perfect. Together we’ll explore the hype versus the reality, from AI’s tendency to hallucinate and the privacy questions that come with uploading images, to the frustration of tools that aren’t always as accessible as they claim to be.
Whether you’re already using AI every day or you’ve never touched a “smart” app in your life, we’d love to hear your take. Let’s share our favourite hacks, our biggest technology mishaps, and what we really need from developers to make the future truly inclusive.
