Our Charity Shops

Our charity shops offer a great range of quality pre-loved items while raising vital funds to support blind and partially sighted people. Some of our shops also provide access to sight loss advice and support, making it easier to get help locally.

We receive no government funding for our core work, so every purchase and donation helps us continue providing vital services for blind and partially sighted people. We simply couldn’t do what we do without your support.

Accessible shopping

Our shops are designed to be accessible for blind and partially sighted people. Features include wide aisles, good lighting, high-contrast colours around areas such as tills and door frames, and an accessible till system designed with visually impaired volunteers in mind.

Sight loss support in our shops

Some of our charity shops also have an attached Resource Centre, providing an accessible, town-centre location for blind and partially sighted people to get advice and support.

Our Trowbridge accessible Resource Centre with a large table and chairs in the foreground. Shelves and counters around the room display a wide range of sight loss equipment and technology, including electronic magnifiers, lighting, phones and everyday living aids.

Our Resource Centres have a wide range of equipment available to see and try, including everyday living aids and technology designed to make life with sight loss easier. You can also have a private consultation with a Sight Loss Advisor to talk through any questions or concerns about living with sight loss and the support available.

Visits to our Resource Centres are by appointment, with appointments available each week at:

  • Salisbury – Tuesdays
  • Stroud – Thursdays
  • Trowbridge – Fridays

Our Devizes shop does not have an attached Resource Centre, as our main Devizes Resource Centre is nearby at St Lucy’s Sight Centre, Browfort, Bath Road, Devizes, SN10 2AT.

If you don’t live near a Resource Centre, our Sight Loss Advisors also offer support through hubs in communities across the region. Visit our What’s On pages to find support near you.

Donating to our shops

We’re always grateful for donations of quality pre-loved items to sell in our charity shops. We accept a wide range of items, including clothing and accessories, books, toys, homeware and small pieces of furniture.

You may also be able to Gift Aid your donations, helping us raise even more from the items you give.
